Pall-Ex staff boosts charity

Pall-Ex staff have been gathering up goods to support a foundation providing support and a home-from-home to the people of Leicestershire.
Workers from all departments of the palletised freight distribution network’s Ellistown headquarters have donated clothes, toys, homeware, books and DVDs to the Shuttlewood Clarke Foundation’s charity shops, based at Ulverscroft, Leicestershire.
Group managing director of Pall-Ex, Kevin Buchanan, said: “We’ve all been scouring our drawers and cupboards for useful items that can be resold to raise money for this really good cause. I’m proud of the team’s efforts and I sincerely hope our donations will enable the Shuttlewood Clarke Foundation to raise funds for its excellent work.”
The Shuttlewood Clarke Foundation is a registered charity that provides a social hub along with various services for people of all ages, who may be lonely, disabled, vulnerable, isolated, unwell or disadvantaged. It encourages wellbeing through inclusive activities, outdoor education and inspiring support and therapy services at its base on the edge of the Charnwood Forest.
Shuttlewood Clarke Foundation chief executive, Alan Norman commented: “We are most grateful to Pall-Ex staff for their kind gift.
“The Foundation is very inclusive and strives to make it easy for people to find a sense of belonging through an open community where they can feel comfortable and find a common bond with others. This inclusivity makes for high running costs, so we are always happy to receive help from generous individuals and businesses.”
