Grow With Us Launch

We were delighted to welcome so many friends (new & old) to witness the launch of our Grow With Us project. Without their support and hard work this project would not be the success that it is today. Our volunteer project leader Alison Darwent has worked tirelessly to get this project off the ground she has become invaluable to the project and an asset to the Foundation.

The ceremony took place in front of the new green house with an introductory speech form Alan Norman, Chief Executive of SCF. This was followed by Rod Quirighetti, Rotary - Loughborough Beacon who thanked everyone for their hard work, Loughborough Beacon Rotary, and Rod in particular, have worked tirelessly to ensure that the groundwork was carried out in preparation for the new green house and provided the raised beds. Rod was then followed by Ray Newman, Lions who contributed to the cost of the greenhouse the official plaque was then unveiled by the Mayor of Charnwood, Councillor Paul Day.

We were lucky enough for the sun to shine on the day which meant we could all enjoy afternoon tea and scones in the courtyard opposite the site. it was lovely to see so many people from different community groups joining forces on a project of this nature.
