Classic Car & Motorcyle Show
Sep 05, 2014
The event was held at Ulverscroft Grange on 3rd Aug 2014 and we are hopeful of repeating it for 2015. The vehicles started to arrive from 7am, so it was an early start for Helen Baxter who did a fantastic job of coordinating the event.
A raffle was held on the day and drawn the following day this featured some amazing prizes:
- 2 places on the luxury first class restaurant car of the Great Central Railway
- Bosch Cordless Drill
- £15.00 Copt Oak Voucher
- MOT at TEK test Centre in Markfield
- £20.00 Gift Voucher, Pippa Lingerie in Ashby
- Chef & Spice meal Voucher for 2 people
- Buffet Sunday meal at Indian Fusion
- 4 x Toboggan runs at Swadlincote Ski Centre
- £40.00 Valet at A&A Cars Ashby
On the day we raised an amazing £4796.90 we will also need to add to this the advance sale of raffle tickets which we estimate to be approximately ... This is an outstanding achievement and we would like to hank everyone who supported this event.
The day was a huge success with motor fanatics and families alike, with a bouncy castle, Face painting and a children's author to keep the little ones entertained, and Box Motor Club providing some amazing vehicles along with private collectors to keep the bigger kids amused! Refreshments were provided by Ulverscroft Grange Tearooms, we are aware that this was extremely busy and we hope to have additional catering facilities next year, we must say a big thank you to the kitchen and serving staff who did a fantastic job under very stressful conditions.
We have also received many compliments regarding the efficiency of the car parking arrangements. Ulverscroft Grange operates a one way system at all times, however this was extended and diverted around the bottom field for the event to ensure the safety of the public on the driveway. Our team of staff and volunteer parking attendants did great job of steering all traffic in the right direction.
The model railway was open on the day and this entertained many people, if you didn't get chance to see it please pop in next time you visit us (usually open Wednesday & Friday).
We could not have asked for a better day for the event, our thanks go out to all out staff and volunteers who dedicated their Sunday to helping out and we hope to run a similar event next year, please keep an eye on our events page for further information.
