If you have never painted in a YURT before now is the time to try it!

A yurt is a tent/marquee-like structure built of pre-fabricated steam-bent wooden poles and covered with a waterproof fabric. The whole thing is topped with large acrylic circular window and the spacious interior is very well lit. A wood-burning stove completes the facilities. It is based on a Central Asia Nomadic Tent and I just fell in love with it. This will be my third year of one-day workshops in it and you could not ask for a better venue.

We can take a maximum of 15 people/artists/would-be artists so please book early if you would like to join me.

These amazing experiences run from 10am till 4pm.

The cost will be £60.00 a head.

Your £60.00 will entitle you to coffee on arrival, excellent 2 course lunch with a glass of wine and tea or coffee with cake on departure. All materials will be provided for those of you without any. And of course, the teaching!

On these workshops I treat everybody as if they are beginners and devote the large part of the morning session to techniques. You do not need any experience in watercolour painting to enroll and I love working with absolute beginners. We all learn a lot from each other.

Let me know if you are interested in joining us by emailing peterwelton@peterwelton.com. I will give you more information about getting there and so on. I promise you an exciting and memorable day.

I look forward to hearing from you

Ulverscroft Camera Club launched at the Grange

Come and Join us

Ulverscroft Camera Club will be holding its inaugural meeting on September 6th 2011 at Ulverscroft Grange at 7 pm. The object of the club is for likeminded people to meet and exchange ideas and views which is much the same as any camera club, but where Ulverscroft will differ, is that the first hour of every normal bi-weekly meeting will be an optional digital workshop. This will enable photographers, new to the digital world, to expand their knowledge and to assist them in making use of the editing software most used to improve their images. Most people join a camera club in order to further their knowledge in the craft and sadly soon become quite disillusioned because that does not happen, but at Ulverscroft it will happen because of our regular easy to understand workshops. Basically it will be attractive to all photographers whatever their standard from raw beginner to ultra-experienced.

The venue is second to none. What other camera club has two bird hides and over 40 acres of woodland and many other very photogenic scenes in which to be able to carry out their craft. The emphasis will be strongly in favour of a friendly atmosphere where everyone gets involved in the clubs activities.

For further information just contact info@ulverscroftcameraclub.com where you are promised a very quick response. The clubs new dynamic website is presently under construction but is up and running at www.ulverscroftcameraclub.com
